The Town of Caledon has launched a new program to help police officers.
A release from the town says the CAMSafe Program will help investigators cut down on the time officers spend searching for helpful footage.
The goal of the program is to build a database of residential and commercial security cameras in the community.
Those cameras would be used as a resource for police when investigating offences or crimes.
When an officer uses the database they’ll be shown a map of the local area where people have registered their cameras for use.
Officers can then click on the registered addresses to view more details.
Anybody who is interested is only required to provide basic contact information and camera location.
People who register can also delete their account or change their information at any time.
