We are entering into prime tick season in Ontario.
With the warmer weather, more people are out walking, and the risk of getting bitten is getting higher.
Black-legged ticks are more active in the spring, and are looking for people or pets to attach themselves to.
Adult ticks are small, roughly the size of sesame seed, younger ones can be the size of a poppy seed.
Not all ticks carry Lyme disease, but the longer it is attached to the body, the higher the risk of contracting Lyme disease if the tick is a carrier.
