Shelburne’s Youth and Arts are getting a major investment.
FLATO Developments has donated $100-thousand to Shelburne’s Streams Community Hub.
The donation was earmarked specifically for the development and construction of a creative hub.
FLATO issued a press release saying they’re committing the money after seeing the plans.
Streams Community Hub is a federally incorporated charity, based in Shelburne.
It’s focused on developing youth and community through the arts.
Streams presented their proposal for the hub to Shelburne Town Council in January which go unanimous support.
Juli-Anne James, President and Co-founder of Streams Community Hub, says they’re tremendously grateful to FLATO Developments for seeing their vision for the community and supporting it.
She says this is a significant investment in the youth of Shelburne, their future, and in the arts.
Over the last three years, Streams has served over 250 youth from Dufferin County through the use of seasonal creative arts camps.
The organization is currently looking into other avenues to expand its capacity to offer year-round arts programming options for the community.
