Awards for the best yard and gardens have been handed out in Orangeville by Communities in Bloom.
Best Home Landscape went to Ida Vanderaar of Bythia Street.
Best bar and Restaurant Gardens went to Mill Creek Gardens and Leah Kuzyk and Declan Shaw won Best Children’s Garden.
Orangeville Town Hall and the Dufferin County Courthouse won in the Government Buildings categories.
The Orangeville Communities in Bloom Committee participated in the federal competition this summer, and results will be announced in September.
Recognition was awarded in the following categories:
Best Home Landscape: Ida Vanderaar of Bythia Street
Best Edible Garden (tie): Annika Paterson of Hunter Road and Mathew Marchildon of Victor Large Way
Best Bar/Restaurant Patio: Mill Creek Gardens of Little York Street
Best Container Gardens: Julie Mae Nemeth and Matthew Shawn Fleming
Best Seniors Residence: 40 Lawrence Avenue
Best Condo/Apartment: Ruth Agar of Second Avenue
Best Bloomin Business: Parsons Florist
Best Government Building Municipal: Town Hall
Best Government Building County: Dufferin County Courthouse
Best Childrens Garden: Leah Kuzyk, Clara & Declan Shaw, and The Sunflower School
Best Floral Home Display: June McGarigle of Ada Street
