Some very exciting news for Shelburne as word a movie shoot is coming here next week, on Monday.
Shelburne is going to be used in a film shoot for the upcoming movie “Kodachrome”, starring Jason Sudeikis, Ed Harris, and Elizabeth Olsen.
The shoot takes place on Monday with some day filming being done outside of Shelburne, in Melancthon Township, and then the downtown Main Street will be used in the evening.
Line Producer for the film, Mary Anne Waterhouse tells Country 105 they chose Shelburne, because it looked the most like Parsons, Kansas — where the story takes place.
Waterhouse says the movie is about three people, who take a road trip to the last photo lab developing Kodachrome film, called Dwayne’s Photo.
She adds they plan on adding in certain details, like the iconic Parsons, Kansas sign, digitally afterwards.
Waterhouse says their focus will be on a particular crosswalk downtown that looks very much like one in the actual town.
Town CAO John Telfer says they’re pleased to have the film crew in town for this exciting event and the town is sure to be buzzing with activity.
The movie is entirely shot in Ontario and they’ve been doing work in Oakville, Scarborough, and Brampton as well.
There’s no official release date yet, but it’s expected to hit theatres next summer.
