Applications are now open for those youth wanting to get an up close look at policing.
Dufferin OPP is once again taking part in the 2026 Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) which runs for eight weeks between July and August.
The initiative is designed to provide youth with meaningful work experience while strengthening community safety and engagement.
Those who are successful will be placed in OPP detachments across the province to work alongside officers and civilian members.
The YIPI was first put together to strengthen relationships between police and youth but has evolved into a valuable community building and recruitment program.
You can submit your application to amy-lynn.pitton@opp.ca.
Officials say you will need a resume and a short essay or cover letter describing why you would benefit from the program and what strengths, skills or
perspectives you’d bring to the role.
