Remembrance Day: Ceremonies
ORANGEVILLE
The Town of Orangeville’s Remembrance Day Parade and Service will take place in person on Nov. 11.
The parade will include a pipe band, bugler, retired and currently serving military members, the 1849 Lorne Scots: Royal Canadian Army Cadets, Orangeville Fire Service, EMS, and others. People participating in the parade are reminded to meet at the legion branch 233 by 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 11.
The parade will begin at the RCL Branch 233 in Orangeville at 10:30 a.m. Participants will walk from 7 John St., turn right onto Broadway, continue to march down Broadway, and turn left onto Second Street toward the cenotaph at Alexandra Park behind town hall.
Police will shut portions of Broadway and Second Street in rolling closures for the parade event to and from the Cenotaph. All are welcome to come back to the legion branch 233 for an open house.
SHELBURNE
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 220 at 230 William St., in Shelburne, will have a Remembrance Day service on Nov. 11. Participants can meet at 9:45 a.m. for the parade that will begin at 10:40 a.m. from the legion to the cenotaph.
GRAND VALLEY
The Town of Grand Valley will have a Remembrance Day service at the Grand Valley Cenotaph at 2 Main St. N. Individuals attending the event are asked to meet at the cenotaph by 10:30 a.m.
MULMUR
The Mansfield Women’s Institute will host a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Mansfield Cenotaph on Nov. 11 in Mulmur. It will begin at 10:45 a.m. at the Mansfield ballpark.
MELANCTHON
The Township of Melancthon will host its first official Remembrance Day Service at Horning’s Mills Community Hall located at 14 Mill St., Horning’s Mills. After the service, all are welcome for coffee and tea in the Hall.
ALLISTON
Alliston for a Remembrance Day Ceremony on Friday, November 11 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The ceremony will take place at the cenotaph at the corner of Paris and Albert Street West, next to the Memorial Arena.
