Thousands of police officers and other first responders from across North America will converge on Barrie today, for the funeral of two South Simcoe Police officers killed in the line of duty last week.
The service for Constables Morgan Russell and Devon Michael Northrup is not open to the public.
It’s being held at the Sadlon Arena at 11 a-m in Barrie’s south end, following a procession.
Some roads in the area have already been closed, and there will be other temporary closures across the city as a procession travels from two funeral homes to the site of this morning’s service.
The South Simcoe Police Service will share livestream information on their social media channels, including its main Twitter account @SouthSimcoePS, as well as on their website at https://southsimcoepolice.on.ca/.
