Another 400 series highway will look to relieve gridlock, create jobs, improve movement of goods, and save drivers commuting time.
Premier Doug Ford was in Caledon this morning to announce plans for Highway 413.
Ford said the new highway would cross Halton, Peel and York regions, potentially saving drivers up to 30 minutes each way on their commute.
The highway will extend from Highway 400 in the east to the Highway 401/407 express toll route interchange area in the west.
It will include a four-to-six-lane highway, separate infrastructure dedicated for transit and passenger stations, and intelligent transportation and truck parking.
During construction, the work is expected to support up to 3,500 jobs each year and generate up to $350 million in annual real gross domestic product.
