As more and more reopens in Ontario, so does the return of local theatre.
Theatre Orangeville has never left us during the pandemic, they evolved to doing online performances, then moved outdoors through the summer, but now they are back in Opera House on Broadway.
“Same Time, Next Year” is the latest production at Theatre Orangeville, and Artistic Director David Nairn says they’re so excited to be back, but at the same time they’re doing it safely.
Nairn says a preview of the show earlier this month, had about 40 theatre-goers in the audience.
He says they will continue that going forward, with about 30 percent capacity, until people become more comfortable coming back to see their shows.
Nairn adds that if you’re attending any shows in person, you’ll still have to wear a mask during the show, and will have to show proof of vaccination, under provincial mandates.
He says many people who have been to see the show, say it’s been their first event they’ve attended indoors, and he says that’s a huge “vote of confidence” that they can do this safely.
“Same Time, Next Year” is on now until October 31st, for tickets: https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=129202
