A new pilot project to control speeding in Mono is on its way.
Council reviewed a report from Clerk Fred Simpson about a 2 or 3 year automated speed enforcement (ASE) pilot program with Global Traffic Group.
According to the report, the set-up costs for the program, including infrastructure and cameras are covered by Global Traffic Group.
There would be very little upfront costs to the Town.
Meanwhile, the Town would get a percentage of ticket revenue with the percentage to be negotiated with the supplier.
Council supported the proposed pilot project which is expected to be up and running by the end of the third quarter in 2026, if not sooner.
