A tragic story coming out of the Dundalk area.
Grey Bruce OPP say a four-year-old child died in a drowning while swimming in a pond at a private property in Proton Station, near Dundalk.
Emergency services were called to a farm near Southgate Road 26 just after 7 p.m. Sunday evening, after the child went missing while swimming with family members.
The body of the child was located and recovered by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit this morning.
“The OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine Unit, and fire and emergency services from Owen Sound, Hanover, and Southgate aided in the search of the property and the pond,” Grey Bruce OPP say in a release.
