
The Town of Mono was given an update on the Development Charges Background Study.
Nancy Neale from Watson & Associates presented the report to council along with the proposed 2024 Development Charges.
The act allows municipalities to pass a bylaw that would allow them recover capital costs associated with new residential and non-residential development.
Some services that are eligible for the charges include policing, fire protection, parks and recreation, water and wastewater, and more.
Council will next draft a bylaw will be to consider comments from the public before they revisit the bylaw at their next meeting on July 16, 2024.
