Two officers killed in the line of duty in Innisfil this week, have returned home.
The procession for South Simcoe Police Constables Morgan Russell and Constable Devon Northrup travelled from Office of the Chief Coroner in Toronto up Highway 400 to Barrie.
Police cruisers lead the escort in the solemn trip that moved under overpasses lined with police officers, first responders, and members of the public.
Officers saluted as the vehicles moved below them.
There will be a full police funeral for both officers together, and details have not been finalized.
Toronto Police officers have organized a 5K run in honour of the officers, which is happening this evening at 6:30 pm.
Acting Chief Van Dyke and many of our officers saluted the escort in honour of Constables Devon Northrup and Morgan Russell. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this tribute. #HeroesInlife pic.twitter.com/IaJRCtwY6D
