An 84 year old Ontario man is walking 75 km to raise money for SickKids.
Russell MacKay has embarked on a journey on foot, traveling from Guelph Friday September 16th, and will end his trip in Toronto at SickKids Hospital on Wednesday September 21st.
“Papa Walks 4 SickKids” is an ambitious feat for Russel, who is also diabetic and legally blind.
One of his motivations is the lady that stands by his side, Doreen, a.k.a “Nana” who was born without enough oxygen and got treatment at SickKids every day for the first weeks of her life.
Russell will make stops in Rockwood and Acton Saturday September 17th, then Milton and Mississauga before the final few kilometres to a special finale event on Wednesday afternoon in Toronto.
His goal is raise $25,000.
