The Alder Recreation Centre is undergoing a major renovation.
The Town of Orangeville announced a $4.3 million project that will see the lap pool transition from six to eight lanes.
Meanwhile, the leisure pool will be reconfigured, with both pools featuring stainless steel liners in future.
Officials say they’ll be replacing liners with stainless steel which was deemed to be the most sustainable, efficient, and the best solution long-term that is cost-effective.
They say the leisure pool will have a PVC vinyl floor to facilitate programs adapted for young children and aging adults.
They’re hoping to have it done by this December.
