Suzuki Leads OHL To 4-2 Win

Owen Sound Attack forward Nick Suzuki scored twice for the OHL while Attack defender Sean Durzi had an assist in the win as the Ontario League evened the 6 game tour by the Russians at 2 wins apiece.

Suzuki, a draft pick of the Vegas Golden Knights along with Conor Timmins of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds both had 3 point games for the OHL who rebounded from a 5-2 loss in Game 3 at Owen Sound last Thursday.

The Owen Sound forward duo of Jonah Gadjovich and Suzuki went to work offensively on Team OHL’s first power play of the night at 3:12 of the first period. Gadjovich provided a screen while Suzuki fired the marker to open the scoring.

Suzuki set up the 2nd OHL goal by Colorado Avalanche prospect Connor Timmins

In the 3rd period, Suzuki was sprung on an outlet pass from Timmins, dekeing to the forehand before sliding a low shot through the legs of the Russian netminder to give Team OHL a 3-2 edge. Durzi also picked up an assist on the go-ahead goal.

Kevin Bahl of the Ottawa 67’s would score the clinching goal for the OHL.

The series shifts to Charlottetown, PEI tonight as Team QMJHL meets Russia in Game 5 of the Russian tour.

Defenceman Kade Landry was acquired by the Hamilton Bulldogs from the Barrie Colts.

In return, the Bulldogs sent overage TJ Fergus and a 4th round draft pick to Barrie.
