College Faculty Begin Voting On Offer

Orillia | by Ian MacLennan
OPSEU is recommending members reject the offer, as strike drags into its fifth week.

Striking faculty at Ontario's 24 colleges begin voting today on the latest offer.

Half a million students have been out of class since October 16th.

12,000 counsellors, librarians, instructors and professors will vote over the next few days, and an update is expected Thursday afternoon.

OPSEU is recommending members reject the offer.

The colleges say the only item that has not been resolved is language regarding academic freedom.

Georgian College has already announced the fall semester will be extended to December 22.
