York Regional Police conducted a blitz on drivers over the past week.
In total, 25 drivers were charged for driving impaired while an additional 114 drivers were charged for driving distracted.
All 140 charges were laid between Monday, June 12 and this morning (June 19).
In one specific incident, members of the Marine Unit found a driver asleep at the wheel while his car was parked along Black River Road in the Town of Georgina.
Police say there was an open bottle of liquor in the centre consol.
The 41-year old man of Georgina is charged with impaired driving.
York Regional Police want to remind people who see distracted or dangerous driving to call police right away.
