Today is the first day of spring.
Environment Canada Senior Climatologist David Phillips says it will be a warmer spring than normal and Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes will be the first to warm up, and the rest of Canada won't be far behind.
Phillips says this winter was a tough one for some parts of the country that normally aren't hit hard, like Vancouver and Victoria who got a mass dumping of snow.
He says the worst of the winter weather is behind us but don't put away the shovels just yet.
Phillips says in Canada 10 to 30 percent of our snowfall happens in the early spring.
