Fight Against Homelessness in Peel Region

Mayor Allan Thompson and Councillor Johanna Downey to participate in United Way all-night event.

Two members of Caledon council will be joining in the fight against homelessness Friday night.

The 3rd Annual "Longest Night" in support of the United Way of Peel Region is going on tonight.

Mayor Allan Thompson and Councillor Johanna Downey will be participating in the virtual event tonight from 10 pm to 6 am at Caledon Town Hall, while others will be at Garden Square in Brampton.

Each have joined countless other high profile people in the community to raise $5,000, through their personal and professional network.

The money goes to fight homelessness in Peel Region, where over 200-thousand residents live in poverty with the threat of homelessness a true reality.

Participants are encouraged to share their experiences on social media using the hashtag- #LongestNightPeel.
