Officials with Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health are reminding parents that they must have their children immunized against certain illnesses in order for them to attend school.
In the next week weeks, notices will be sent home with students with missing vaccines.
It will inform parents on how they can update their records, which they will need to do by the deadline in order to avoid being suspended from school.
High school students will be receiving their notices this week and have until March 18 to update their records.
Elementary students will be notified in the coming weeks and have until April 1st to get their shots.
Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and CEO of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health says the vaccines protect students from communicable diseases as well as the school community from outbreaks.
