A young Orangeville boy and his team of swimmers raised an impressive number of dollars for the food bank during his "Will Swim for Food Campaign".
Ryan Hann raised over $4,000 last year swimming 35 km in a pool, and brought in 300 lbs of food for the local food bank.
This year, his initative kicked it up a notch, as he had a team of 12 swimmers that jumped in the water and swam over 420 km from August 18th to the 24th.
That, combined with some added on fundraising initatives helped to raise $11,310 and 1,456 lbs of food for the Orangeville Food Bank.
The team more than doubled their initial goal of $5,000 and 500 lbs of food.
This year there was also a Will Swim for Food Muskoka team that raised money for the food bank in Bracebridge.
